Clear Blue Special
Sold at Joshin Tamiya Summer Festival in 2015, the Clear Blue Special features the clear blue bodyshell. It was equipped with blue wheels and cyan tires. The chassis frame and the A parts were both molded in white.
The bodyshell design of the Blast Arrow is based on and inspired by the Le Mans Prototype (LMP) race cars and is fully-cowled. The side air-ducts are also designed into the body to dissipate heat from the batteries inside. There are various faux-sponsor decals around the bodyshell, mostly the products Tamiya had released such as mass damper and Neo-Champ Batteries among other examples. All models were equipped with the small-diameter fin-type low-profile wheels low-profile slick tires.
The MA (Midship AERO) Chassis has its motor in the center, and features a design which focused upon achieving outstanding aerodynamic performance. It has a gear ratio of 3.5:1, 6 individual rollers, a rear skid bars and other speedy features developed thanks to years of design experience. The single-piece monocoque frame also guarantees that assembling and keeping the car well-maintained is a task that can be performed by beginners and veteran racers alike.
